About us
Informing the business of trading since 2010
LeapRate was founded to bring rigorous, independent journalism to the global retail and institutional trading industry, a sector too often served by promotional content masquerading as news. From its origins as a specialist FX industry monitor, LeapRate has grown into one of the most trusted sources of record for brokers, regulators, and trading professionals worldwide.
Our story
When LeapRate launched in 2010, the forex industry was expanding rapidly and largely unscrutinised. Brokers were proliferating, regulation was uneven, and the news covering the sector was frequently written by those with a commercial stake in it.
LeapRate was built on a different premise: that the professionals running and participating in this industry deserved the same quality of independent reporting available to readers of financial newspapers. That meant breaking news ahead of the wire services, holding brokers and regulators to account, and treating compliance officers and C-suite executives as the sophisticated audience they are.
Over the years, LeapRate has grown its coverage beyond forex to encompass CFDs, cryptocurrency markets, prop trading, fintech infrastructure, and the regulatory frameworks shaping all of them. Our readership has expanded across Europe, APAC, the Middle East, and the Americas, reflecting the global nature of the industry we cover.
The LeapRate Broker Directory, launched to provide transparent, structured data on regulated brokers worldwide, represents the next chapter, combining our editorial credibility with a comprehensive resource for traders making decisions about where to place their capital.
Our editorial philosophy
LeapRate exists to inform, not to sell. Every editorial decision is made independently of commercial relationships.
Independence — LeapRate does not allow advertising relationships, directory listings, or sponsored arrangements to influence our news coverage. News is news; commercial content is clearly labelled as such.
Accuracy — We verify before we publish. In a sector where rumour moves markets and reputations, precision is not optional.
Relevance — We write for practitioners. Our readers are brokers, compliance professionals, fund managers, and regulators. Our coverage reflects the complexity of their world without unnecessary simplification.
What we cover
LeapRate reports on the global retail and institutional trading industry across five core areas: broker news and regulation, market structure and technology, mergers and acquisitions, regulatory enforcement, and the emerging asset classes, cryptocurrency, tokenised assets, and beyond, reshaping the industry’s boundaries.
Our audience
LeapRate’s readership is concentrated among senior professionals in financial services: chief executives, compliance officers, business development directors, and technology leads at brokers, liquidity providers, and trading technology firms. We also reach the retail traders and investors who rely on independent information when choosing where and how to trade.

LeapRate offers a range of commercial partnerships, from directory listings and sponsored content to display advertising and newsletter placements, structured to maintain a clear separation between commercial and editorial functions.
