MetaTrader mobile users more than double in 5 months to a million

Mobile taking over in both FX and Binary Trading at online brokerage firms.

MetaQuotes Software, the maker of the MT4 and MT5 “MetaTrader” platforms, announced that it had hit a milestone of more than 1 million mobile users of MT4 and MT5 mobile platforms — more than double the 500,000 users it reported just five months ago.

MetaQuotes introduced “MetaQuotes IDs” into mobile terminals last year. These unique identifiers allow MetaQuotes to determine the exact amount of actually-used mobile terminals.

We recently reported that MarketsPulse, one of the leading Binary Options platform providers, saw fully 30% of Binary trades in its system on mobile apps in February, up four-fold from last year. Clearly, mobile has gone from a neat-to-have or a need-to-show-customers-we-have-it functionality, to a key driver of trading volumes at online brokerage firms.
