Hong Kong’s Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) has earlier today updated its Alert List, with the latest addition being Crown Star Investment Limited.
The company, operating via www.csigrouphk.com, offers a variety of investment services and claims to be regulated by Hong Kong authorities.
The SFC says that the company is not licensed and notes that the address it quotes on its website – The Center, 99 Queen’s Road, Central, Hong Kong, is incomplete.
Also, it is worth noting that the website design of Crown Star Investment Limited copies elements of the website of Vantage FX, a regulated Australian Forex broker. This raises concerns that Crown Star Investment Limited is pursuing a fraudulent practice known as cloning – unauthorized companies abuse the details of authorized entities to confuse investors and easily attract clients.
