Taiwan Futures Exchange (TAIFEX) has just published its operating metrics for February 2016, with overall trading volumes, and yuan futures volumes in particular, decreasing in monthly terms.
Overall trading volumes at the Exchange amounted to 13,258,237 contracts, down 52.5% from the 28,001,613 contracts traded in January 2016. On the brighter side, the annual comparison was positive, with overall trading volumes in February 2016 up 35.7% from February 2015 levels.
Let’s take a look at the RMB futures trading results.
- In February 2016, the monthly trading volumes of USD/CNH FX Futures (RHF) amounted to 5,330 contracts, down 52% from the reading of 11,003 contracts for January 2016.
- The monthly trading volumes of USD/CNT FX Futures (RTF) amounted to 22,509, down 69% from January 2016 levels.
