CBOE Holdings sees ADV decrease 14% MoM in February 2016

CBOE Holdings, Inc (NASDAQ:CBOE), the holding company for Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE), C2 Options Exchange (C2), CBOE Futures Exchange (CFE), and other subsidiaries, has published its operating metrics for February 2016, with average daily volumes across all venues failing to match the robust results seen in January 2016.

Total average daily volumes were 4.65 million contracts in February 2016, down 14.2% from the reading of 5.42 million contracts reported in January 2016. The result for February 2016 was virtually unchanged from the reading for February 2015.

The total trading volume for options contracts and futures contracts amounted to 92.9 million contracts in February 2016, down 10% from January 2016 levels and up 5% from February 2015.

  • CBOE Volumes

CBOE’s ADV for February was 4.1 million contracts, down 14% from January 2016 levels and down 2% from February 2015. Total volume for February 2016 was 82.3 million contracts, down 9% month on month and up 3% year on year.

  • C2 Volumes

C2’s ADV was 324,653 contracts in February, down 12% from January 2016 and up 9% from February 2015. Total volume was 6.5 million contracts, down 7% from January 2016 and up 15% from February 2015.

  • CFE Volumes

Total ADV at CFE was 204,624 contracts in February, down 25% month on month and up 23% year on year. Total volume at CFE for last month was 4.1 million contracts, down 21% from January 2016 and up 29% from February 2015.
