This is the first time NYMEX Brent volumes surpassed 50,000 contracts at the CME.

CME Group, which runs the world’s largest derivatives marketplace, announced it has reached record volumes in NYMEX Brent trading, with 52,352 contracts trading hands last Friday June 7. This is the first time NYMEX Brent has surpassed 50,000 contracts. Additionally, open interest for NYMEX Brent oil is at near-record levels of 60,356 lots.

The CME’s record oil volumes follow volume records we’ve also recently seen in both Gold and Forex trading. A good time to be a broker….
