ESMA withdraws Bloomberg Trade Repository registration

The world’s largest crypto IPO postponed

The EU supervisor of trade repositories (TRs) ESMA has informed the public that it has just withdrawn the registration of Bloomberg Trade Repository Ltd (UK).

As the withdrawal became effective today (1 March 2019), all Bloomberg clients have already been transferred to a TR of their choice.

ESMA notified last month of its intention to renounce the TR registration under the conditions set out under the European Market Infrastructure Regulation (EMIR).

The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) has been busy lately with the Brexit issue. LeapRate reminds that the EU supervisor declared that in case the UK left the EU with no deal, it would authorize three central counterparties from the UK to operate in the EU legally. The three CCPs are LCH Limited, LME Clear Limited and ICE Clear Europe Limited, which are all registered and headquartered in the UK.
